The worldwide hit RollerCoaster Tycoon was born at a time when developer teams were still small and games were often personal author-products. At the core of the first version stood essentially a single developer who designed and coded his idea over two years.
Now the brand is returning to a comparable engine room. An independent studio is building RollerCoaster Tycoon Wonderworks and brings players in directly through Early Access.
Atari is taking this IP back to the conditions under which it grew up: small team, clear idea, short paths.
